critique from !!!
first off, way to focus the image! I love the emotion, I'm a huge fan of this,
and if you capture it, your manip is so much more powerful. i adore how the horse
is looking into the future, like "i'm jumping, and i'll be ok."
anyway, yeah, time to dive in! (:
the prep looks great, but a little more sharp detail wouldn't hurt! however, this is usually
someones preference, so i'll leave it at that.
i think the hair could use some more work, the mane needs some umph.
if a horse were to be in that pose, the hair would be whiping all over the place
like crazy. try using a smaller brush to detail as well. you did really well
on the light sources!! (:
next, some additional shading to the markings would help make them fit in
and make the "stuck" look. take some dark/light shades and color or mess with
the overlay, color, or soft light setting.
your lighting is fairly good, i love how you took into consideration the shadow
from the mane onto the horses body! I don't understand why the belly is light,
as i think it should be shaded. the shadow under the horse also seems like it should be
moved back just a tad. since the shadow would be in the water, it wouldn't be solid,
and it would kind of blend in with the water, which is really hard to do :I
also, since the horse has unnatrual markings, you may think of blurring the BG
so the BG doesn't seem too real for the horse, the blur adds that fantasy look sometimes
however it works unblurred as well for some (:
lastly, there would be some water trailing off the hooves and belly as i imagine the horse
was pretty wet!
hope this helped and sorry for such a late response!
